Aguascalientes has a beautiful Main Plaza as do most cities. Usually surrounded on the perimeter by restaurants, coffee places,fast food, etc. European feel, where most people go to enjoy. Sometimes music or entertainment, depending where you are in Mexico. Aguascalientes it self was awesome. Great people and restaurants. Only problem I had was with the hotel Quality Inn I stayed in did not leave my room new and clean two days of which I stayed. We enjoyed wandering in the shops and on the streets close to downtown.
Aguascalientes doesn't have as much local colour and colonial charm as some other cities, such as Zacatecas, but is nice for a short visit. The people are kind and helpful and the streets were very clean.
Aguascalientes seemed very safe and the public areas were clean. The city center has some beautiful buildings--mostly baroque churches. The Museo Posada is outstanding. Everyone I talked to was helpful and friendly. Aguascalientes is a small industrial town. Very crean, safe.
Not recomended ir you are looking for a colonial place. Indeed they are some churches un the city Center.
